Attention Youth Filmmakers!

Do you have a cool idea for a new short film that you want to direct?! If you answered "YES" (of course you did, you're a FILMMAKER!), then this production grant is for you. This is your chance to direct your own film with guidance from professional filmmakers and crew that are excited to help bring your film to life!

Indie Memphis and VIA Productions will provide the awarded filmmaker with the following:

- One production day to shoot your short film!
- High end cinema camera, lights, audio, and other filmmaking equipment!
- Up to four professional film crew members to work on your film!
- Producing support and mentorship from Indie Memphis and VIA Productions staff members!
- Lunch and craft services provided on the day of your shoot!
- Editing support as needed once the film is complete!

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE READ THE RULES AND GUIDELINES BELOW BEFORE SUBMITTING.

 - Only Memphis-based students currently between grades 7-12.

 - Only one application will be selected for this grant award. 

 - Only one application may be submitted per student.

 - You must have completed at least one prior film as either the writer, director, cinematographer, or editor. If you have never completed a film - look into joining our CrewUp mentorship program and attend our filmmaking workshops.

 - Submit a script. Must be 5 pages or less. So keep your ideas simple and easily filmed! Email your script to info@indiememphis.com.

 - Your film must be set in one location. You may utilize more than one room or area but it must be in the same central location.

 - Your film can not have more than 4 actors. Anything beyond that is unmanageable for a one-day shoot.

 - Your film can not include any guns or extreme violence. 

 - Your film must be shot on a day within 9 months of receiving the award.

 - Documentary projects are not eligible.

The deadline to submit an application is Sunday, February 11th 2024!
